We stayed here twice on a recent driving holiday to Spain. We chose to have one of the superior rooms with a terrace. It was worth it for the extra space and the spectacular view. Its similar to the one from the parador which is situated further up on the same side of the river. The other rooms looked fine and have a very small outside space- no view. It all feels slightly old fashioned but in a good comfortable way - excellent beds and shower. Terrace and outside seating would benefit from a little attention. Breakfast was fine and varied. Its 15 minutes walk across the Roman bridge and then uphill into Central Salamanca and worth pacing yourself as you may want to return there in the evening for dinner. It is a great location if you are driving and want a stop in Salamanca - very easy and fast to find from the motorway and has free safe parking on local streets/ at the garage opposite and an underground car park, fee payable, if you prefer that. Its 3.5 hours from Santander and Salamanca is a great city to visit. We liked it enough to stay on our return trip - not our original plan but we had a good second visit.

Starting from the reception, we felt very welcome in this beautiful comfortable hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the receptionist offered us a map of the old town and gave us valuable pieces of advice about what to see and where to eat. We had to leave early the next morning, so an early breakfast was arranged for us. And then, when we arrived at our next destination the next day, we found out that we had left some of our clothes in the room. We contacted the hotel, and they advised us of a delivery company in Salamanca and packed our parcel to hand it to the delivery agent. We texted them through the Booking.com App, and their answers were prompt and to the point. We appreciate their concern and assistance very much. The room was very comfortable and spacious, with a beautiful view of the Roman Bridge and the old city.

Located just the other side of the Roman Bridge. Really easy to walk in to town, less than 15 mins to the main centre of the Salamanca and other attractions. Had booked the hotel parking but the receptionist recommended parking in the space beside the petrol station across the road for free which worked out really well for us. Driving in Salamanca looked horrendous due to the very small streets. Parking outside and walking in was definitely a great solution. Didn't realise there was a swimming pool available, never tried it but a nice bonus. Room was very spacious with a lovely view across Salamanca from the private terrace. Lovely breakfast with lots of choice too, including a hot selection

We liked this hotel as to us it is authentically Spanish. Old fashioned fittings in the rooms are what we expect in Spain (not vulgar modernity !). Lovely chairs and light fittings. The room was great with nice furniture, excellent bathroom, really comfortable beds with great long pillows. We had a great view from our balcony and the staff were extremely friendly. We parked in the street just outside. They also leave you a delicious sweet pastille every morning in the room which was a nice touch. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that. The walk to Salamanca over the old Roman bridge is a great way to start the day.

The room was exceptionally big and luxuriously decorated in very good taste. Very elegant room and bathroom, all perfectly clean. The location was incredible, close to the river and a historical bridge, across the street from the service station with the best fuel prices, in a calm neighbourhood. The gentleman at the recaption was a great example of politeness, perfect English and manners. Will go again for a longer stay, the area deserves to be explored.
